Man Charged with Arson Following Heathfield Close Fire

A 69 year old man has been charged with arson after a fire broke out at an address in the Sholing area of Southampton over the weekend.

Police were called to Heathfield Close just before midnight on Sunday, 24 August, where Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service were already in attendance.

Stephen Wood, of Heathfield Close, has been charged with arson with intent to endanger life. He was remanded in custody and is due to appear at Southampton Magistrates’ Court today, Tuesday, 26 August.

Authorities have not released further details about the circumstances surrounding the fire.
