Southampton Man Arrested in Winchester After Police Discover Suspected Class A Drugs
A man has been arrested after officers discovered suspected Class A drugs during a proactive vehicle stop in Winchester in the early hours of Monday morning.
Hampshire Constabulary confirmed that officers were on patrol when they spotted a Honda Civic on St Cross Road at around 1.30am on Monday, 25 August. The vehicle had previously been linked to drug supply activity.
Due to suspicious circumstances, officers conducted a search of the vehicle, during which they found seven bags of what is believed to be cocaine, £260 in cash, and a magnetic security tag remover. All items were seized as part of the investigation.
A 25 year old man from Southampton was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of Class A, acquiring or using criminal property, and going equipped for theft.
The suspect has since been released on bail with conditions while further enquiries are carried out.
Police have not yet released the man’s name, and investigations remain ongoing.
