Investigation Ongoing Into Winchester Crash That Left Pedestrian Injured
Police are appealing for witnesses and information following a serious road traffic collision that occurred in Winchester earlier this month.
The incident took place shortly after 4pm on Friday 8 August at the junction of Tower Street and Sussex Street, and involved a Honda CR-V and a pedestrian.
As a result of the collision, the pedestrian sustained serious injuries, including a fractured pelvis and shoulder blade. Emergency services attended the scene, and the injured party received medical treatment.
Officers from Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary have conducted extensive enquiries, including speaking to both the pedestrian and the driver involved. However, they are now urging members of the public who may have witnessed the incident, or who were in the area around the time, to come forward.
“Did you witness the incident itself, or do you have any dash cam or mobile phone footage which may assist us in our investigation?” said a police spokesperson.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police by calling 101 and quoting incident number 44250356878.
Information can also be submitted online via the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary website.
Alternatively, those who wish to remain anonymous can contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or submit details online via their website.
Police are urging anyone who may have been in the Tower Street or Sussex Street area around the time of the collision to come forward, no matter how minor the detail may seem.
“We would also like to hear from anyone who was in the area before, during or after the collision,” the spokesperson added.
