Two Arrested Following Spate of Burglaries and Vehicle Crime in Botley
Two people have been taken into custody in connection with a series of reported burglaries, vehicle tampering, and suspicious activity in the Botley area, police confirmed today.
The arrests follow an earlier public appeal issued on Monday, 7 July, as part of an ongoing investigation by Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary.
A 30 year old man from Portsmouth was arrested on suspicion of non-dwelling burglary with intent to steal and theft from a motor vehicle.
A 42 year old woman, also from Portsmouth, was arrested on suspicion of handling stolen goods.
Both individuals remain in police custody while investigations continue.
Police have thanked the local community for their assistance, stating that public support and information shared in response to the earlier appeal played a significant role in progressing the case.
“We couldn’t do what we do without all of you,” a police spokesperson said. “Your assistance is always hugely appreciated and helps us progress our investigations and make arrests.”
Officers have stated they will continue to keep the community updated as the investigation develops.
