Southampton Marks World Mental Health Day with Call to Prioritise Wellbeing
Today is World Mental Health Day, a global event dedicated to raising awareness of mental health issues and promoting actions that support emotional wellbeing. This year’s theme encourages people to take small but meaningful steps to look after their mental health and to reach out for support when needed.
Maintaining good mental health can often start with simple everyday actions. Experts suggest that incorporating activities such as going for a walk, practising mindful breathing, connecting with friends or loved ones, or taking regular screen-free breaks can make a significant difference to how we feel and cope with daily challenges.
Southampton residents have access to a wide range of local support, from mental health services and support groups to community activities that promote connection and wellbeing.
