Appeal for Witnesses After Attempted Bike Theft in Woolston

Police are appealing for witnesses following an attempted robbery involving a 12 year old boy in Woolston on Friday afternoon.

The incident occurred shortly before 5pm on Friday 26 September at the junction of Church Road and Weston Grove Road, a busy residential area not far from local schools.

According to police, the boy was approached by three youths who threatened him and attempted to snatch his bike. The suspects fled the scene after officers were called.

The victim was not injured, but was left shaken by the incident.

The three boys are all believed to be aged between 12 and 15 years old. They were described as follows:
• Suspect 1: Dark hair, wearing a blue Nike Tech tracksuit
• Suspect 2: Blonde hair, wearing a bandana over his mouth and a black Nike Tech tracksuit
• Suspect 3: Ginger hair with freckles, also wearing a bandana over his mouth and a grey Nike Tech tracksuit

Police are currently following all available lines of enquiry, including checking for CCTV footage in the area.

A spokesperson for Hampshire Constabulary said:

“This happened in a built-up area and during daylight hours after school ending, so there may have been members of the public who witnessed something, or saw the three boys in the area.”
