Southampton Man Arrested After Class A Drugs Seized During Vehicle Stop in Havant

A 45 year old man from Southampton has been arrested after police discovered more than 30 bags of suspected Class A drugs during a vehicle stop in Havant.

Officers from the Roads Policing Unit (RPU) B-Relief carried out a proactive stop on a vehicle in Petersfield Road, Havant, this morning (25 October). The action followed community intelligence regarding suspected drug activity in the area.

During a search of the vehicle, officers reportedly uncovered in excess of 30 bags containing what is believed to be Class A drugs, concealed within the car. Around £640 in cash was also seized at the scene.

The driver was subjected to a roadside drug test, which returned a positive result for cocaine. He was subsequently arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs and driving a motor vehicle with a proportion of a controlled drug above the specified limit.

The man remains in police custody while enquiries continue.
