Safes Stolen in Overnight Burglaries in Hythe and Nursling

Police are appealing for witnesses and information following two commercial burglaries that occurred in the early hours of Wednesday, 9 July, in Hythe and Nursling.

The first incident took place at approximately 1am at the Flogas site on Charleston Road in Hythe. Three individuals reportedly forced entry into a building on the site and stole a safe containing cash and keys. The suspects then fled the scene in a dark grey Land Rover Discovery.

Just over an hour later, at around 2.10am, police received a report of a second burglary — this time at the Costa Coffee Drive Thru at Adanac Park, off Hurst Way in Nursling. A group of five men is believed to have forced their way into the premises and stolen a safe containing cash before making off in what is believed to be the same Land Rover Discovery.

Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary has confirmed that the two burglaries are being treated as linked incidents, and officers have launched an urgent investigation to trace those responsible.

“Our enquiries are at an early stage, but we are treating these two incidents as linked,” a police spokesperson said. “As part of those enquiries, we are appealing for anyone with information on what took place to come forward and speak to us.”

Officers are particularly interested in speaking to anyone who may have been driving in the areas of Charleston Road, Hythe or Hurst Way, Nursling during the early morning hours and may have dashcam footage that could be useful to the investigation.
