Police Seek Man in Connection with Ferry Thefts Totalling Over £550

Police are appealing to the public for help in identifying a man they wish to speak with in connection to a series of thefts aboard Red Funnel ferries earlier this month.

The incidents occurred across three separate dates: Thursday 17 July at approximately 4:00am, Saturday 19 July around 1:00am, and Sunday 20 July also at around 1:00am. During these early morning hours, an unknown man is believed to have boarded the Red Eagle and Red Falcon ferries and stolen goods with a total value exceeding £550.

Among the items taken were cash donations from charity tins, prompting particular concern from both ferry staff and local charities.

As part of ongoing enquiries, police have released an image of a man they would like to speak with in relation to the thefts. Officers are urging anyone who recognises the individual, or who may have any information relevant to the investigation, to come forward.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101, quoting reference 44250323926. Reports can also be submitted online via the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary website.
