Multiple Arrests Made During Proactive Crime Operation in Southampton
Officers carried out a proactive operation targeting burglary and related criminality in Southampton on Friday 6 February, resulting in a number of arrests and positive outcomes across the city.
The operation involved the Southampton North Neighbourhood Policing Team, Priority Crime Team and Dog Support Unit. Police have now released details of the activity, confirming that the incidents are separate and not linked.
A 44-year-old man from Southampton was arrested on suspicion of burglary at a business premises. He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at court on 3 March 2026.
A 37-year-old woman from the city was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a Class A controlled drug. She has since been released on bail while enquiries continue.
Officers also arrested a 41-year-old Southampton man after a warrant was issued when he failed to appear at Southampton Magistrates’ Court. He was brought before the next available court.
In a separate incident, a 37-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of two shoplifting offences. He has been released under investigation while further enquiries are carried out.
Traffic and drug offences were also dealt with during the operation. A 42-year-old woman was stopped while driving despite being disqualified and without valid motor insurance. She will be summonsed to court for those offences. During a search, she was also found in possession of a Class A controlled drug and was issued with an out-of-court resolution to attend a drugs awareness course.
A 49-year-old man was also stopped and searched and found in possession of a Class A controlled drug. He too was issued with an out-of-court resolution to participate in a drugs awareness course.
During the operation, officers attempted to stop a vehicle which failed to comply, resulting in a brief pursuit. The vehicle was later abandoned, and the occupants fled on foot. A quantity of cannabis was recovered from the vehicle. Enquiries are ongoing to identify and prosecute the driver.
