Man Sought After Multiple Thefts at Hythe Waitrose

Police have released CCTV images as part of an appeal for information following a shoplifting incident at a Waitrose store on Hythe High Street.

The offences were reported to have taken place between 10.30am and 11am on Tuesday 14 October. According to Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary, an unknown man stole around £410 worth of champagne and spirits. Officers say the same individual is believed to have returned to the store more than an hour later and taken meat.

Police are attempting to identify a man captured in the released images who they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries. He is described as white, in his mid-30s, approximately 5ft 7ins tall, with short shaved hair. At the time, he was wearing white trainers and a black jacket.

Investigators are urging the man pictured—or anyone who recognises him—to come forward.

Witnesses or anyone with information, including CCTV, mobile phone footage or dashcam recordings from the area around the time of the incident, are asked to contact police on 101, quoting incident number 44250466907.
