Crews Contain Domestic Fire in Holbury — No Injuries Reported

Firefighters from across Hampshire stopped a severe campervan fire from spreading to nearby homes in Holbury this morning (27 October).

Emergency services were called shortly before 10am after multiple 999 calls reported a vehicle alight on a driveway in Oakley Close. Residents had already evacuated safely before firefighters arrived.

On-call crews from Hardley and Beaulieu fire stations were first on the scene and found smoke and flames issuing from a campervan parked close to two houses. Reinforcements from Redbridge, Hamble, and St Mary’s fire stations soon arrived to provide support.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered the properties to check for any fire spread, while others used hose reels and main jets to bring the blaze under control. Ventilation fans were also deployed to clear thick smoke from the area.

The campervan was completely destroyed, and both homes sustained external fire damage, but crews successfully prevented the flames from spreading inside.

A spokesperson for Hardley Fire Station praised the swift response and teamwork shown by all those involved, noting that the fire was contained efficiently and that no casualties were reported.

Fire safety materials were later distributed to neighbouring homes as a precaution before firefighters left the scene shortly before midday.
