CCTV Released in Connection With Hythe Shoplifting Investigation

Police have released a CCTV image as part of an investigation into a reported shoplifting incident at a High Street store in Hythe.

The incident took place at around 3.20pm on Tuesday 8 July at the Superdrug store on Hythe High Street. According to police, £87 worth of items were stolen, including perfume and hair products.

Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary is appealing for help in identifying the man pictured in the CCTV image, as officers believe he may have information that could assist with the ongoing investigation.

The man is described as:
• White
• Aged in his mid-30s
• Around 5ft 10ins tall
• Of large build
• With a closely shaved beard and moustache
• Wearing black trainers and black shorts at the time of the incident

Police are urging the man, or anyone who recognises him, to come forward. Officers are also appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the theft, seen suspicious activity in the area around the time of the incident, or has relevant CCTV, mobile phone, dash cam or doorbell footage.
