CCTV Images Released in Hedge End Shoplifting Investigation

Police have released CCTV images of a man they wish to speak to in connection with a shoplifting incident at a Sainsbury’s store in Hedge End.

The incident occurred between 3:05pm and 3:15pm on Thursday, 28 August, at the Sainsbury’s on Tollbar Way, when a Henry Hoover, valued at £180, was stolen.

As part of their investigation, Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary are appealing to the public to help identify a man captured on CCTV around the time of the theft.

The man is described as:
• White
• In his early 30s
• Approximately 5ft 6ins tall
• Of medium build
• With short black hair, a beard, and a moustache
• He also has visible tattoos on his neck and hand

At the time of the incident, he was wearing:
• A black baseball cap
• A black hooded top
• A black gilet
• Black jeans
• Black and white high-top trainers

Police believe the man in the CCTV images may have vital information and are urging him—or anyone who recognises him—to come forward.

Anyone who witnessed the incident, saw suspicious activity in the area, or has CCTV, dashcam, or mobile phone footage that could assist the investigation is asked to contact police.
