CCTV Image Released in Connection with Chandler’s Ford Sexual Assault Investigation

Police have released a CCTV image as part of an investigation into a reported sexual assault on a teenage girl in Chandler’s Ford.

The incident occurred between 3:40pm and 3:50pm on Tuesday, 26 August, at the junction of Baddesley Road and Beechwood Crescent. According to Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary, the victim reported being inappropriately touched by an unknown man.

Following the incident, the suspect was seen walking in the direction of Upper Flexford Nature Reserve.

A CCTV image, though of limited quality, has been made public to help identify a man police wish to speak to in connection with the investigation. Officers have also released a description.

The man is described as:
• White
• Around 5ft 9ins tall
• Aged between 40 and 45 years old
• Of medium build
• Bearded
• Wearing a dark hat, green and brown coat, and glasses
• Carrying a parcel

Police are urging anyone who recognises the man, or who may have information relevant to the investigation, to come forward.

“We believe the man in this image may have information that could assist our investigation,” a police spokesperson said. “We appreciate the image is not of the greatest quality, but we are hopeful that someone may recognise him from the description or recall seeing him in the area.”
