Appeal to Identify Two Individuals After Attempted Shoplifting Incident in Totton

Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary are appealing to the public for help in identifying a man and woman they wish to speak to in connection with a report of attempted shoplifting at a supermarket in Totton.

The incident occurred shortly before 10am on Thursday, 14 August, at the Asda store on Maynard Road. According to reports, approximately £60 worth of groceries were not scanned at a self-service checkout. The items were later recovered by store staff.

As part of the investigation, police have released descriptions and CCTV images of two individuals who may have information that could assist enquiries.

Description of Individuals:

Man:
• White
• Slim build
• Believed to be in his 60s
• Grey and white hair, balding
• Wearing a navy blue T-shirt, navy shorts, white socks, and black trainers

Woman:
• White
• Tanned skin
• Light brown hair, tied up
• Wearing striped clothing and trainers

Police are urging the individuals pictured, or anyone who recognises them, to come forward. Officers are also appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has relevant CCTV, dash cam, or doorbell footage from the area around the time of the incident.
