Appeal Launched Following Assault on Woman in Southampton

Police have released CCTV images of a man they wish to speak to following an assault on a 19 year old woman in Southampton.

The incident happened at around 2:00am on Friday, 26 September, as the woman was walking along Commercial Road near the junction with Above Bar Street. According to officers, an unknown man approached her and punched her in the face before leaving the scene. A nearby security guard assisted the victim, who sustained a black eye as a result of the attack.

Detectives have been carrying out a series of enquiries, including reviewing CCTV footage, and are now seeking to identify a man who may have information that could support the investigation.
