Appeal Launched After Assault on Teenagers at West Quay Shopping Centre

Police are appealing for information following an assault on two teenagers at the West Quay shopping centre in Southampton.

The incident happened at around 5.40pm on Saturday, 18 October, when a 13 year old girl and 14 year old boy were reportedly assaulted by a woman as they left the toilets inside the shopping centre.

According to police, the woman chased the pair, grabbed them by the hair, and put the boy in a headlock. The teenagers managed to run to the Apple store, where they alerted security staff.

Officers have released an image of a woman they would like to speak with in connection to the incident. She is described as Asian, aged between 25 and 35, of athletic build, with black hair worn in a ponytail. At the time, she was wearing a red cardigan, navy shirt, dark trousers, and white trainers, and was carrying an orange bag.

Police are urging anyone who witnessed the incident or who recognises the woman described to come forward.
