Man Charged with Over 30 Offences Following Shoplifting Spree in Southampton
A man has been charged in connection with a series of thefts across Southampton, following a police investigation into repeated shoplifting incidents over the summer months.
Marley Warner, 30, of no fixed abode, has been charged with a total of 34 offences, including:
• 30 counts of shoplifting
• 2 counts of burglary
• 1 count of robbery
• 1 count of assaulting a police or emergency worker
The charges relate to a string of shoplifting incidents reported between July and September this year, primarily targeting Co-op stores across the city. Police estimate that more than £2,500 worth of goods were stolen during the spree.
Warner appeared before Southampton Magistrates’ Court today (4 September), where he was remanded in custody. He is due to appear in court again on 2 October.
The investigation forms part of ongoing efforts by local police to tackle persistent retail theft and related offences impacting businesses across the city.
