A prolific shoplifter has been sentenced to 16 weeks in prison following a series of thefts from shops in Southampton earlier this month.
Henok Jonny Beyene, 40, of no fixed abode, carried out multiple thefts across the city centre. On Sunday, 5 October, he twice targeted The Works on Above Bar Street, stealing items worth a total of £174.
Just over two weeks later, on Wednesday, 22 October, Beyene entered John Lewis in Westquay and stole £214 worth of alcohol.
