Police Shut Down Southampton Drug Line After Warrant Execution

A police operation in Southampton has resulted in the arrest of a man and the seizure of a significant quantity of drugs and cash, following a successful warrant executed by the Southampton Neighbourhood Enforcement Teams (NET).

The search warrant, authorised by the courts, targeted an address linked to the supply of Class A drugs in the city. Officers from the NET entered the property earlier today, where a male occupant was detained and his room searched.

During the search, officers discovered a substantial amount of uncut drugs along with a large quantity of cash. The suspect was subsequently arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs, possession of criminal property, and possession of Class B drugs. He is currently assisting police with their enquiries at the Southampton custody suite.

A Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary spokesperson said:

“We understand how drugs can plague communities, and as your local officers, we will take action against those who cause the most harm in Southampton. Please continue to support us by being our eyes and ears on the ground.”

Residents are encouraged to report any concerns or intelligence about suspected drug activity by calling 101, visiting the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary website, or reporting anonymously through Crimestoppers.

Also assisting in the operation was Police Dog Rocky, a veteran drugs detection dog who has served the force for nine years. PD Rocky will retire next month, and officers took the opportunity to thank him for his dedicated service helping to locate and seize illegal substances across Hampshire.

“A MASSIVE thank you to PD Rocky for assisting officers over the years locating and securing drugs and keeping the streets safer,” the spokesperson added.
