Police Seek Public’s Help to Identify Man After Attempted Car Theft in Lymington

Police are appealing for information following an attempted car theft in Lymington in the early hours of Saturday, 21 June.

At around 5.50am, a woman left her home on Ashley Lane and discovered a man inside her car attempting to start the engine. She confronted the man, opened the car door, and pulled him out of the vehicle. The suspect then walked away in the direction of Hare Lane.

The man is described as having a fresh wound above his eyebrow. Officers have released an image of the man in connection with the investigation and are urging the public to come forward with any information.

A spokesperson for Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary said:

“We’d like to speak to the man in the image about this incident. We know this isn’t the clearest picture but together with the image of his clothing, we’re hopeful someone will recognise him.”
