Winter in the City 2025 Kicks Off in Southampton
Southampton is gearing up for a festive season of fun and culture as the city council launches Winter in the City 2025. The campaign, led by Southampton City Council Leader Councillor Alex Winning, aims to highlight local events, attractions, and offers throughout the autumn and winter months.
“It’s getting chilly, right? Coats coming out, evenings getting darker. It’s the perfect time to wrap up and explore all the amazing things we’ve got right here on our doorstep,” said Councillor Winning. “But this campaign isn’t just about us Sotonians having fun – it’s about championing Southampton, loud and proud supporting our local economy and the Southampton Pound.”
The initiative builds on the success of Summer in the City and is part of the council’s GO! Southampton programme. Residents can expect a variety of activities, from Halloween celebrations and festive Christmas lights to music, art, and cultural events.
The campaign will be promoted across outdoor screens, social media, and email bulletins, with local businesses encouraged to join in by sharing visuals and spreading the word.
A dedicated page on Visit Southampton allows residents and visitors to plan their outings, ensuring October, November, and December are filled with local experiences and festive cheer.
Councillor Winning added: “October, November and December are the perfect months to slow down, stay local, and rediscover what’s right here at home.”
Let’s make this winter one to remember.
