Police Seek Man After Reported Assault on Taxi Driver in Blackfield

Police are appealing for information following a reported assault on a taxi driver in Blackfield last month.

The incident occurred between 6am and 8am on Saturday, 27 September, on Blackfield Road, when a taxi driver was reportedly punched in the face by a passenger.

Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary has released an image of a man they wish to speak to in connection with the incident. Officers believe he may be able to assist with their investigation.

A police spokesperson said:

“We believe the man in this image can help us with our investigation and would urge him, or anyone who knows her identity, to get in touch with us.”

Members of the public who witnessed the incident, saw anything suspicious in the area at the time, or have CCTV, mobile phone, or dash cam footage that could assist the investigation are urged to contact police.
