Police release image after attempted break-in and arson in Eastleigh

Police are appealing for information after a man attempted to break into a business and start a fire in Eastleigh town centre.

The incident happened at around 8.30pm on Thursday, 15 January, on High Street, Eastleigh. Officers say a man was seen trying to gain entry to VIP Cuts, causing damage to the shop’s door. An attempt was also made to start a fire by posting an item through the letterbox.

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary have released an image of a man they would like to speak to in connection with the incident. Officers believe the man pictured may have information that could help the investigation.

Anyone who recognises the man or has information relating to the incident is asked to contact police by calling 101, quoting reference number 44260023549.
