Police Release CCTV Image in Hythe Shoplifting Investigation
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary have now released a CCTV image of a man they wish to speak to in connection with a shoplifting incident in Hythe.
The theft occurred at the Waitrose store on High Street between 3pm and 3.05pm on Tuesday 10 June, during which £126.50 worth of sirloin steaks were reportedly stolen.
As part of the investigation, officers are appealing for the public’s help in identifying a man captured on CCTV at the time of the incident.
Police have described the man as:
• White
• Aged between 50 and 55
• Approximately 5ft 9ins tall
• Of slim build
• Bald
• Wearing a dark check shirt, jeans, and black trainers with white soles
Police believe the man pictured may have valuable information that could assist with their enquiries.
“We believe the man in this image can help us with our investigation and would urge him, or anyone who knows his identity, to get in touch with us,” a police spokesperson said. “if you witnessed anything of the incident, saw anything suspicious in the area at the time, please contact us.”
The police are also asking anyone with CCTV, mobile phone footage, or dash cam recordings from the area around the time of the incident to come forward.
