Fire Service Carries Out Training Exercise at Westquay
Shoppers and visitors to Westquay this afternoon (Friday, 7 November) may notice an increased presence of emergency vehicles, as Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service conducts a planned training exercise at the shopping centre.
The exercise, scheduled to begin at 2pm, is part of ongoing collaboration between the fire service and Westquay management to ensure preparedness in the event of an emergency onsite.
The activity is an important opportunity for crews and staff to test their response plans and work closely with the centre’s team in a realistic setting.
Members of the public are being reassured that there is no cause for concern, and that the exercise is purely for training purposes. Normal shopping centre operations are expected to continue throughout the afternoon.
