Two women charged with shoplifting £300 of clothing from John Lewis

Two women have been charged after more than £300 worth of sports clothing was reportedly stolen from John Lewis in Southampton city centre.

Police were called to the department store at around 7.30pm on Wednesday, 11 February, after security staff reported detaining two women suspected of shoplifting. Officers were told the pair had been stopped with a bag containing sportswear that had not been paid for.

Following further enquiries, Bianca Durac, 21, of Anglesea Road, Southampton, and Simona Zafmir, 28, of no fixed address, were both charged with shoplifting.

Zafmir was remanded in custody and appeared before Southampton Magistrates’ Court today (12 February). Durac has also been remanded in custody and is due to appear at the same court tomorrow (13 February).
