Police Release CCTV Image Following Theft on Southampton Bus

Hampshire Police have released a CCTV image of a man they wish to speak with in connection to a theft that occurred on a Unilink bus in Southampton earlier this summer.

The incident took place between 2:20pm and 2:50pm on Wednesday 2 July, when a woman travelling on the U6H Unilink service accidentally left her AirPods on the bus after disembarking at Mayfield Road.

Realising her mistake, the woman managed to catch up with the bus near Glen Eyre Road, but by that time, the wireless earphones had disappeared. The AirPods were later tracked to the Shirley area of the city.

Police believe the man captured in a CCTV image from the bus may have information that could assist with their enquiries. Officers are appealing to the public for help in identifying him.

“We believe the man shown in this image may have information that could assist our investigation,” said a spokesperson for Hampshire Constabulary. “If you recognise him, or have any details that could help, please get in touch.”
