Police Launch Urgent Search for 78-Year-Old Wanted Man in Sussex and Hampshire

Sussex Police have issued an urgent appeal for the public’s help in locating 78 year old Simon Berkowitz, who is wanted on recall to prison. Authorities believe he is travelling between New Forest and Bournemouth.

Berkowitz, who was previously staying in Littlehampton, is reported to be using local bus services. He is described as wearing a distinctive two-tone blue “Columbia” puff jacket and a dark-coloured baseball cap.

Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary has confirmed it is working in partnership with Sussex Police to locate Berkowitz. Members of the public are urged to remain vigilant but not to approach him directly.

Anyone who believes they have seen Berkowitz is advised to call 999 immediately, quoting the case reference 364 of 27/10. 

Joint efforts between the forces aim to prevent further movement across county lines and ensure his swift return into custody.
