Police Appeal for Witnesses After Trees Vandalised in Newlands Close Park

Date: 26 June, 2025

Police are appealing for witnesses after several trees were vandalised with graffiti in Newlands Close Park over the weekend.

Officers received reports on Tuesday, 24 June, that trees in the park had been defaced with spray paint, some of which included offensive language. It is believed the incident occurred the previous day, Monday, 23 June.

Test Valley Borough Council has since attended the site and removed the graffiti.

Police say a number of enquiries have already been carried out and are now urging anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious in the area to come forward.

Officers are keen to speak with anyone who was in the Newlands Close area on Monday and may have seen something that could help with their investigation.

Members of the public with information are encouraged to contact police by calling 101, quoting reference 44250277591. Information can also be submitted via the Hampshire Constabulary website.
