Police Appeal for Witnesses After Incident in Southampton Play Park

Police are appealing for witnesses following a reported incident involving a teenage girl in a play park on Archery Road, Southampton.

The incident is said to have occurred between 6.15pm and 6.30pm on Wednesday, 15 October, when a teenage girl was reportedly approached and spoken to by an unknown man. It was also reported that during the encounter, the man had his hand inside his trousers.

Officers from Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary are now seeking to identify and speak with a man described as:
• White, but tanned
• Aged in his mid-50s
• Of slim build
• Mostly bald, with some wispy hair
• Grey beard
• Tattoo on the back of his hand
• Average height
• Wearing a grey zip-up jacket and black trousers

Police are appealing to anyone who may have been in the Archery Road area around the time of the incident and saw a man matching this description. They are also urging residents or businesses with CCTV, dashcam, or mobile phone footage from the area to come forward.

A spokesperson for Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary said:

“We would like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident and recalls seeing a man matching the description. Even if you didn’t see the man, do you recognise the description? Do you have any footage, including mobile phone or CCTV, which may assist us?”
