Pennington Man Pleads Guilty to Shoplifting Spree and Assault in Lymington

A 46 year old man from Pennington has pleaded guilty to a series of shoplifting offences and one count of assault by beating following a string of incidents across Lymington.

James Dempsey, of Efford Way, admitted the charges when he appeared at Southampton Magistrates’ Court this morning (Friday, 11 July). The offences took place between Wednesday, 4 June and Wednesday, 9 July at several local businesses.

Stores targeted in the thefts included Holland & Barrett on the High Street, Shell and Morrisons Daily on Milford Road, and Waitrose on Stanford Road.

Dempsey has been remanded in custody and is due to be sentenced at the same court on Friday, 1 August.
