Park Gate Assault: 21-Year-Old Held on Suspicion of Attempted Murder
A 21 year old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a serious assault in Park Gate on Saturday evening.
Police were called shortly after 6:00pm on 15 November to reports that a 20 year old man had been seriously injured on Hunts Pond Road. Emergency services attended the scene, and the victim was taken to hospital with serious, potentially life-threatening injuries. He remains in hospital, where his condition is described as stable.
The suspect, from Fareham, was arrested and is currently in police custody.
District Commander Chief Inspector Marcus Kennedy said, “We understand that this incident will have caused significant concern in the community and we want to reassure you that we believe this to be an isolated incident, and that there is no wider threat to the public. An investigation is underway to establish the full circumstances.”
Police have asked anyone with information to come forward as the investigation continues.
