Man arrested after drugs and cash seized during early-morning vehicle stop
A man from Southampton has been arrested after police seized suspected Class A drugs and cash during a proactive vehicle stop in the early hours of this morning.
Officers were on patrol at around 1am on Friday 6 February when they noticed a blue Nissan being driven suspiciously in Winchester city centre.
The vehicle was later located and stopped on Bassett Avenue in Southampton. Officers carried out a search, during which they seized a quantity of cash, suspected Class A drugs, and a mobile phone.
The driver, a 44-year-old man from Southampton, was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a Class A drug, possession of criminal property, driving while unfit through drugs, and driving without wearing a seatbelt.
He remains in police custody at this time.
