Man Arrested Following Reported Assault in Blackfield

A 31-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a reported assault in Blackfield.

Police confirmed that the incident occurred at Sainsbury’s on Hampton Lane on Saturday 23 August, where it was reported that a man in his 30s was assaulted.

Following a public appeal for information, officers arrested a 31-year-old man from the New Forest at an address in Holbury shortly before 11.30pm on Thursday 5 February.

The man was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent, contrary to Section 18 of the Offences Against the Person Act. He remains in police custody at this time.

Police have thanked members of the public who provided information to assist the investigation.
