Man Charged After Woman Heard Screaming in Southampton Car Park

A man has been charged in connection with a late-night incident in Southampton that left a woman assaulted.

Police were called shortly after 2am on Monday, 29 September, to a report of a concern for welfare after witnesses heard a woman screaming in a car park on Ordnance Road.

Officers attended the scene and launched an investigation. They later identified all individuals involved in the incident.

It was confirmed that a 45 year old woman had been assaulted. Fortunately, her injuries were not serious.

Carlos Diamantino, 51, of Quayside Road, Southampton, was arrested and subsequently charged with assault by beating.

He was remanded in custody to appear at Southampton Magistrates’ Court today, where he was granted bail. He is next scheduled to appear in court on 27 October.
