Hythe Man Arrested Over Stolen Tools Following Portsmouth Vehicle Theft
A man has been arrested in connection with the theft of tools from a vehicle in Portsmouth earlier this month.
Officers from Hampshire Constabulary confirmed that a 45 year old man from Hythe was taken into custody this morning (Thursday 25 September) on suspicion of handling stolen goods. He remains in police custody as investigations continue.
The arrest follows a reported theft that occurred on Flying Bull Close, Portsmouth, between 10:00am and 10:10am on Wednesday 10 September. A large number of tools were taken from a vehicle during the incident.
In addition to the arrest, police have seized a substantial quantity of tools believed to be stolen. Officers are now working to establish the origins of the recovered items.
The operation was a joint effort between the Waterside Neighbourhood Policing Team and the Portsmouth Neighbourhood Policing Team.
Enquiries are ongoing, and anyone with information related to the theft or the seized tools is encouraged to contact police.
