Family pays heartfelt tribute to motorcyclist Lee Easterbrook after fatal crash near New Alresford
A family has paid tribute to a motorcyclist who died following a collision near New Alresford.
Emergency services were called at around 10.35am on Saturday, 25 October, to reports of a single-vehicle collision involving a blue Suzuki motorcycle near the roundabout close to Whitehill Lane.
The rider, 58 year old Lee Easterbrook, from Romsey, was pronounced dead at the scene despite the best efforts of emergency crews.
His family, who are being supported by specialist officers, have released the following statement:
“The family of Lee Easterbrook are devastated by our sudden loss and are working to come to terms with the void left by his absence and we request space and privacy.
At the same time we feel deeply moved to reach out to the many people who stepped in from passing motorists, off duty doctors, police officers, ambulance crew, the air ambulance crew and witnesses who all played roles, big and small, in their efforts to give Lee every chance of coming back to us.
To each of you, you know who you are, your compassion, swift actions and unwavering dedication will never be forgotten and we are forever grateful for all you did.
We send our heartfelt thanks to each of you who fought so hard at that most critical time to try and save him.”
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary is continuing to investigate the incident and has renewed its appeal for witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage to come forward.
A police spokesperson said:
“We would like to reiterate our appeal for witnesses and anyone with relevant dash cam footage to please come forward. Did you witness the incident, and do you have any dashcam footage or information which could help our enquiries?”
