Arrest Made Following Hedge End Fuel Thefts

Hampshire Police have confirmed the arrest of a 26 year old man in connection with a series of fuel thefts reported in Hedge End last month.

The incidents, which involved approximately £800 worth of fuel being taken from the Sainsbury’s petrol station without payment, prompted officers to issue a public appeal for information as they attempted to identify and locate the suspect.

In an update, police said the man was arrested on suspicion of making off without payment. He remains in custody as enquiries continue.

Officers thanked members of the public who shared the appeal and assisted the investigation.
