Appeal to Identify Man Following Series of Fuel Thefts
Police are appealing for information after a series of fuel thefts at a petrol station near Hythe.
The incidents took place at the Tesco Esso Express on Beaulieu Road in Dibden Purlieu on three separate dates: Tuesday 23 December, Monday 29 December, and Friday 9 January.
On each occasion, a man is reported to have filled a van with fuel before informing staff he had no means of payment and leaving the premises. Across the three incidents, a total of £316.88 worth of fuel was taken.
The amounts reported stolen were:
• £101.14 on 23 December
• £73.84 on 29 December
• £141.90 on 9 January
Officers believe the same individual was involved in all three incidents.
The man is described as white, aged between 25 and 30, approximately 6ft tall, with dark hair and a dark beard. He is said to wear glasses and has a slight to medium build. During one of the incidents, he was wearing a three-quarter length grey puffer jacket with a hood, joggers, and Nike trainers.
Police believe the man captured in CCTV images may have information that could assist with their investigation. They are urging him, or anyone who recognises him, to come forward.
