Appeal for Witnesses Following Assault at Eastleigh Park

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man in his 70s was assaulted at Lawn Road Recreation Ground on Sunday 1 February.

The incident occurred between 3:00pm and 3:30pm while both the victim and the suspect were walking their dogs. According to police, the victim tried to intervene when the dogs approached each other. During the encounter, he was punched in the head, face, and neck, and placed in a headlock, sustaining cuts and bruising.

Officers are seeking information about a man described as:
• White, aged 40–50
• Approximately 5ft 10in tall, stocky build
• Balding
• Wearing a brown Barbour-style jacket and brown trousers

Police are urging anyone who witnessed the assault, recognises the suspect, or has footage of the incident (including CCTV, dash cam, or mobile phone video) to come forward.
