Appeal for Witnesses After Mobile Phone Theft in Southampton

Police are appealing for witnesses following the theft of a mobile phone from a shop in Southampton last month.

The incident took place at Tidal Vape on Portswood Road between 12:30pm and 12:50pm on Friday, 12 September. It was reported that a man entered the store and took a staff member’s mobile phone from the counter before leaving the premises.

Following ongoing enquiries, officers from Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary have released an image of a man they would like to speak to in connection with the incident. They believe he may be able to assist with their investigation.

Police are now urging anyone who recognises the man, or who was in the area at the time and saw anything suspicious, to come forward.

A spokesperson for Hampshire Police said:

“We’d also like to hear from you if you have CCTV, dashcam, mobile phone, or doorbell camera footage that may assist our enquiries.”

Anyone with information is asked to call 101, quoting reference number 44250413658.

Information can also be submitted online via the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary website.

Alternatively, members of the public can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111, or via their website.
