Appeal for Information After 14-Year-Old Boy Targeted in Sexual Offence in Southampton

Hampshire Constabulary is appealing for information following a sexual offence involving a 14 year old boy in Southampton.

The incident was reported to have occurred at around 4.30pm on Thursday, 23 October, when the boy was walking along Cemetery Road. According to police, an unknown man approached the teenager and attempted to speak to him before allegedly placing his hand down his trousers and appearing to inappropriately touch himself.

The man is described as a white man, aged between 20 and 30 years old, of medium build and approximately 5ft 10in tall. He is said to have black hair, no facial hair, and was wearing grey tracksuit bottoms and a black top at the time of the incident.

A runner who witnessed the incident reportedly stopped to check on the boy’s welfare. Officers are keen to trace this individual and are urging them to come forward with any information that may assist the investigation.

Police are also appealing to anyone who was in the area around the time of the incident and may have seen a man matching the description. Investigators are particularly interested in hearing from anyone who may have CCTV, dashcam, or mobile phone footage from the vicinity.
