18-Year-Old Charged Over Winchester Flat Assault
A man has been charged following an investigation into an incident at a flat in Chesil Street, Winchester.
Police were called at 2.28pm on Sunday 1 February after reports that a group of men had entered the address and assaulted a woman.
The woman, who is in her 30s, suffered bruising to her head but did not require hospital treatment.
Two men, aged 26 and 27 and both from Winchester, were arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary. They have since been released on police bail while enquiries continue.
A third man was arrested on Monday 2 February in connection with the incident.
Harley Pain, 18, of Christchurch Road, Winchester, has now been charged with burglary of a dwelling with intent to steal and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
He is due to appear at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court today (Tuesday 3 February).
