Witness Appeal Launched After Violent Attack in Eastleigh Memorial Park
Police are appealing for the public’s help to identify two men following a serious assault in Eastleigh.
Officers were called to Eastleigh Memorial Park at around 4:45pm on Friday 19 December after reports that a 47-year-old man had been attacked. The victim was allegedly pushed to the ground and repeatedly kicked by two men. While he was on the floor, one of the attackers is also reported to have thrown a glass bottle at him.
The victim suffered a broken leg and facial bruising as a result of the assault.
After the incident, the two men are believed to have walked away in the direction of Holy Cross Church.
The first man is described as white, aged between 18 and 25, of a large build, with blonde hair. He was wearing a black hoodie with a small white logo, a white T-shirt underneath, dark jeans and black shoes.
The second man is described as white, also aged between 18 and 25, of medium build, with dark brown hair. He was wearing glasses, a two-tone puffer jacket, dark joggers with a white stripe down the leg, and black shoes.
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary is urging anyone who was in the area at the time and recognises the men, or who witnessed anything suspicious, to come forward. Officers are also keen to hear from anyone with CCTV, dashcam, mobile phone, or doorbell footage that may assist the investigation.
