Witness Appeal: 17-Year-Old Motorcyclist from Southampton Dies in Portsmouth Collision
A 17 year old motorcyclist from Southampton has died following a collision in Portsmouth, prompting police to launch a public appeal for information.
The fatal incident occurred shortly after 11:00pm on Friday, 4 July, on James Callaghan Drive. Emergency services were called to the scene after reports of a collision between a yellow Kawasaki motorbike and a grey Vauxhall Insignia.
Tragically, the teenage rider was pronounced dead at the scene. His family has been informed and is being supported by specialist officers.
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary have confirmed that a number of enquiries are ongoing, and officers are urging any members of the public who may have witnessed the incident to come forward.
Police are appealing to anyone who may have:
• Seen either vehicle in the moments leading up to the collision
• Been travelling along James Callaghan Drive at the time
• Dash cam or CCTV footage from the area
They are particularly keen to speak with anyone who may have vital information that could assist the investigation.
