Two men charged over New Forest burglary and vehicle theft spree
Two men have been charged in connection with a series of burglaries and vehicle-related thefts across the New Forest, police have confirmed.
Billy Ridout, 28, of Hedley Close in Fawley, has been charged with conspiracy to commit dwelling burglary, conspiracy to commit non-dwelling burglary, conspiracy to steal a motor vehicle, driving while disqualified, and using a motor vehicle on a road or public place without third-party insurance.
Thomas Anthony Wellman, 28, of Rushpole Court in Dibden, has been charged with conspiracy to steal a motor vehicle, conspiracy to steal from a motor vehicle, conspiracy to commit dwelling burglary, conspiracy to commit non-dwelling burglary, and handling stolen goods.
The charges follow an investigation into incidents reported to police since September 2025, the majority of which took place in the New Forest area. More than £100,000 worth of property is reported to have been stolen during the crime spree.
Both men have appeared at Southampton Magistrates’ Court and have been remanded in custody. They are next due to appear at Southampton Crown Court on Monday, 23 February.
