The Silence That Speaks: Remembering Armistice Day

“Lest We Forget”

On the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month, we pause to remember.

Armistice Day marks the moment when the guns fell silent in 1918, bringing an end to the First World War — a conflict that reshaped nations and changed countless lives.

Today, we honour all those who served and sacrificed in that war, and in every conflict since. We remember the soldiers, sailors, airmen and women, the medics, the messengers, and all who stood for peace in times of great darkness.

Their courage reminds us of the cost of war — and the value of peace.
Their silence calls us to gratitude and to reflection on the world we shape today.

At 11am, we stop to remember not only the end of a war, but the hope of a better future.

We will remember them.
