Southampton Woman Sentenced for Shoplifting from Bursledon Store

A 38 year old woman from Southampton has been sentenced after admitting to two counts of shoplifting from a convenience store in Bursledon.
Helen Marjorie Leahy, of Millbrook Road West, appeared at Southampton Magistrates’ Court on Monday 28 April, where she pleaded guilty to the offences. She was sentenced at the same court on Friday 27 June.
The charges relate to two incidents of theft that occurred at the One Stop store on Portsmouth Road, Bursledon, on Saturday 15 February and Thursday 20 February.
Leahy was handed an 18-month community order, which includes 25 rehabilitation activity requirement (RAR) days. She was also ordered to pay a total of £520 in compensation.
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary has urged members of the public, particularly shop owners and retail staff, to continue reporting incidents of theft.
